Reverse Circulation PDC Bits

torquato pdc rock drill bit We have pioneered the development of REVERSE CIRCULATION PDC BITS for large diameter water well drilling. Reverse circulation drilling offers many performance advantages over the traditional center flush circulation method. Among these include faster drilling penetration rates and the ability to drill large diameter wells with far less mud volumes. Reverse flooding is a very popular method for large diameter well drilling. In this process the bore hole is flooded with drilling mud which is allowed to flow freely into the well and downward through the annulus between the drill string and the wall of the well. Upon reaching the bottom of the bore the mud flows across the bit face taking the drilled cuttings into the bit’s large central collection chamber. From that point the mud – including cuttings – is assisted with a flow of compressed air and forced upward to the surface where it is directed into a collection pit where solids can settle out.

In addition to faster drilling penetration rates, Reverse Circulation PDC Bits require far less drilling weight than traditional bits. The combination of faster penetration rates and less drilling weight result in significant savings in fuel and all other related operational costs.

We have also supplied our Reverse Circulation PDC Bits for mining applications. The main advantage in mining applications being the drilled cuttings are much larger and much more representative than those developed in either tricone or DTH reverse circulation programs.

We design and produce custom sizes as required to meet project requirements. Our REVERSE CIRCULATION PDC BITS have been used on projects in the USA, Europe, Australia and Africa.
